LifePath Resident Celebrates 90th Birthday!
LifePath’s oldest resident, Alfred W. celebrated his 90th birthday in December 2008. Al is currently a member of LifePath’s Paletown residential program and has been with LifePath since 1984. Al’s birthday bash was attended by more than 100 guests who enjoyed food, music and dancing alongside him. Al has a great laugh and a good memory. Despite a couple of bouts with cancer years ago, Al is young at heart – you’d never believe he’s 90! You can’t help but to fall in love with him when you meet him. Al likes all kinds of music and shows, especially westerns. He also loves to go out to eat and have his occasional beers. He LOVES attention; the more the better! Happy birthday, Al!

Walk, Don’t Run, for LifePath!
LifePath will be participating for its second consecutive year in Highmark’s annual Walk for a Healthy Community. The date of the walk is Saturday, June 13, 2009. It will be held rain or shine. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The 5K Walk begins at 9 a.m. and the One-Mile Fun Walk begins at 9:15 a.m.
The Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is the annual fundraising walk that benefits local health and human service agencies in the Lehigh Valley. Highmark Blue Shield underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100% of the money raised by walkers goes to the participating organizations. Last year, over 130 walkers and 420 donors helped LifePath raise almost $15,000 to support its programs and services for individuals with developmental disabilities. This year, LifePath’s goal is to raise $20,000! Won’t you please help??
The primary goal of the walk is to help participating organizations raise money for their individual missions. The secondary goal of the walk is to energize community members to have a greater hand in their health by becoming or staying physically active.
The 5K Walk will start and finish in Historic Downtown Bethlehem. The walk tent will be situated at Main and Lehigh Streets. The walk route will go across the Fahey Bridge to South Bethlehem and back via the Hill-to-Hill (Rt. 378) Bridge.
All registered walkers will receive a Walk for a Healthy Community T-shirt while supplies last. For every $50 that you donate to participating organizations, you will receive one chance for raffle prizes valued at more than $500.
Teams, sponsors, walkers and donors wanted! Registration is now open! Sign up to support LifePath by visiting: http://www.walkforahealthycommunity.org/central/index.shtml. For more information, please e-mail Ann Marie at amsurovy@lifepath.org or call 484-893-5539.

Holiday Festivities Better Late Than Never!
On January 23, 2009, the Sellersville Adult Day Program enjoyed their belated annual holiday luncheon at The Franconia Heritage Banquet and Conference Center in Franconia, PA. The ice storm on December 19, 2008 resulted in having to delay the festivities, but this time the celebration went off without a hitch and all those in attendance rocked and rolled to the "Blue Suede Shoes" beat of our Elvis impersonator, Davey Jay. Davey Jay's presence at our parties is sought by clients and staff alike. Table-to-table entertainment was provided by balloon artist and magician, Barry Weaver. From hats to flowers and hearts to swords, colorful balloon creations could be seen throughout the dining room. The day ended as positively as it began with all attendees looking forward to the next holiday event!
