 September 2008  Sellersville Day Program Celebrates Another Summer of Fun! LifePath's Sellersville adult day program was a flurry of activity again this summer, participating in countless fun and educational activities and outings. On August 8, 2008, "Elvis" provided a free concert for the staff and consumers of the day program along with the staff and consumers of Ridge Crest on the lawn outdoors. Everyone who attended was treated to a great live performance from "The King" and Rita's Italian Ice (hope they had peanut butter/banana sandwich flavor for Elvis!) On August 14, 2008, approximately 20 of our consumers traveled to Flint Hill Farm in Coopersburg to participate in a "farm day" where they were able to touch wool from the sheep, plant a seed, pet the animals, tour the farm and enjoy a picnic in the stable. The day program went "retro" on September 23 and 24, 2008, hosting its first "Tie Dye Day." Consumers contributed money toward supplies and brought in a white item to be dyed. For two days, staff and consumers had a tie dye blast on the back lawn, taking home some groovy new creations! Photos from the events are below. August 8th, "Elvis" day:
LifePath Honors Employees at Annual Recognition Luncheon LifePath honored the following individuals for their dedication and years of service to the organization at its annual employee recognition luncheon September 24, 2008 at The Inn at Towamencin, Lansdale. Congratulations and thank you!
Ridge Crest Christmas Shop October 2-4, 2008 The Ridge Crest “Craft Ladies” will be holding their annual Christmas Shop craft fair Thursday, October 2 from 2 PM till 6 PM; Friday, October 3 from 8:30 AM till 7 PM; and Saturday, October 4 from 8:30 AM till 12 PM at the First Savings Bank Glenwood branch located at 1129 N. 5th Street, Perkasie. The event will feature various crafts for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and everyday along with a raffle to win a quilted wall hanging, Byers Choice Caroler and Christmas basket. There will also be a special raffle to win a baseball autographed by Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher, Jamie Moyer. All proceeds from the event benefit LifePath’s Ridge Crest pediatric facility in Sellersville for medically-fragile children. The “Craft Ladies” were organized in 1986 by a group of volunteers who were interested in crafting as well as giving back to the community. Since the group formed over 20 years ago, the Craft Ladies have donated more than $100,000 to LifePath. Their gifts have been used to purchase a variety of necessary items including a van, vacuum, dishwasher, emergency vehicle kits, nurses’ equipment, a cardiac defibrillator, interior design services, macadam, and much more. The ladies received the Pennridge Chamber of Commerce Service Award in 2000 in recognition of their contributions to LifePath.
